For many years, the branch used its own beer scoring system, which has served us well and played a key role in identifying quality pubs and supporting our Pub of the Year process.
However, the branch committee has now agreed that the time is right to retire the branch-run scoring system and move fully to CAMRA’s national beer scoring system.
The closing date of 31st December 2025 to submit beer scores on the branch website has now passed.
From 1 January 2026, all beer scores should be submitted via the national CAMRA website.
Why are we doing this?
The national system offers several important benefits:
- It’s a centralised system that requires no maintenance by branch volunteers
- Scores are available at a national level and support CAMRA’s wider campaigning work
- Your scores help determine a pub’s Beer Quality Accreditation on the national website
- Members can submit scores more flexibly over time
In short, it ensures that every score you submit has the greatest possible impact.
How do I score beer going forward?
Scoring beer nationally is quick and easy:
1. Visit https://camra.org.uk/pubs
2. Search for the pub you wish to score
3. Click Score Beer
4. Complete the form and submit
